Cockerill Sambre S.A. was a Belgian company, which itself mainly with the steelmaking and - refinement as well as mechanical engineering busy.

Cockerill had its seat in Seraing in the province to the Maas with a further location in Charleroi to the Sambre. It was created 1817 by John Cockerill. In the age of the steam locomotives Cockerill Sambre was famous for its steam engines. In the 1920er and 1930er years there were also high-quality motorcycles from Cockerill.

1945 merged Cockerill its competitor Angleur Athus. 1955 fused Cockerill with Marihaye and carried since then the name S.A.
