The CO OI Schleswig-Holstein EEC with seat in Kiel is a company in the legal form of a registered cooperative and mainly in the food retail trade active. The CO OI has nearly 38,000 members and is with their more than 9,700 coworkers (of it over 680 training and of it 6,300 coworkers alone in the Land of the Federal Republic Schleswig-Holstein) the largest private-economical employer in Schleswig-Holstein. 1,3 billion euro conversion (conditions 2003) make those for CO OI of Germany largest consumer cooperative.

The 262 branches were divided into Germany into the selling rails of WANDMAKER, plaza and SKY, into Denmark run them under SK discount. The German circulation area covers Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Hamburg, the northern Lower Saxony and the northeast Brandenburg, as well as parts of Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg. The cooperative is active also as wholesale dealers on the international market.

Members receive a rate of dividend, which lies clearly over the capital market-usual interest rate for years (2003: 6.5 per cent).
