CMC Magnetics is a manufacturer of storage media from Taiwan. According to own data he is the largest taiwanische storage medium manufacturer.
Among other things disks, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM and packing are manufactured of CMC. CMC Philips, Memorex, imation, manufactures TDK and Verbatim storage media and is an exclusive supplier for HP storage media for north and South America, Europe, the Near East, Africa and Asia also for other companies such as BestMedia/Platinum.
Spindle packing, which was manufactured of CMC, is made of polypropylene and to have a high, every now and then sharp edge. "LOCK" and "OPEN" are printed in a writing with serifs on the cover.
CMC has the call to produce mass-produced goods with moderate quality and durability. This lies however at least with the DVD media less at (quite good) the quality of the commodity than at the bad support of the media by the firmware of certain burners. The products manufactured for considerable companies such as Verbatim and TDK with their Mediacode exhibit a clearly higher quality.
