CIVIS with probe is a political magazine appearing since 1954. It appears quarterly.

CIVIS with PROBE is anxious after own representation "to be energized discussions in the union regarded as trend-setting." The magazine does not want therefore to keep the straight "typical party-political consideration-taken" over on a "intellectually responding level argument ions openly putting". This covers both the "urgent social matters of principle and the party politics".

Addressee of the magazine are after own Dartellung student, scientist as well as members and function carriers of the Union parties.

History

The magazine came out from the combination of the magazines CIVIS and PROBE. Both come from the surrounding field of the RCDS (ring Christian of democratic students).

The Civis was created 1954 by Johannes large and Ruediger Altmann in Marburg. Structurally he understood himself as theory organ of the RCDS, which had at that time primarily civic basic positions as contents of its politics. Accordingly the Civis was primarily addressed at students of all fields, which were unlocked to christian-social, worth-conservative and liberal ideas opposite. After an interruption in the Siebzigern the Civis at the beginning of the eighties was published again as RCDS publication. It had gotten a more strongly scientific profile, had however always remained the theory magazine of the RCDS Federal association.

The probe was created 1969/70 under the leadership of the former RCDS Federal leader Wulf To the editorship members of many years among other things Hans Reckers, Friedbert and Stephan Eisel belonged. The magazine functioned straight in the start time also as language pipe of the RCDS Federal Administration at that time, had however from the outset another objective than the Civis.Mit pointed contributions and positions affected the probe the reform process in the CDU of the seventies. Admit became in particular the so-called "probe theses", in which concrete demands on the CDU were placed. With CDU Secretary-General Heiner Geissler had the probe as intellectual magazine of the Reformer in the CDU a strong partner.

1995 fused both magazines to "CIVIS with PROBE". Both tradition lines merged. An organizational connection to the RCDS Federal Administration exists by the co-editor shank of the acting RCDS Federal leader.
