The city revue is Cologne city magazines. It developed in the 70's from the social movements at that time and further for their discourses connected, i.e. social and alternative topics, particularly also locally relevant, are treated again and again.

Quotation from the self-manifestation of the city revue publishing house (conditions: 29. March 2005):

Requirement of the city revue is it to bring itself to actively journalistic into the political discussions of the city and/or knock against these. Straight one in a city such as Cologne with their proverbial entwinements of politics, journalism, economics and other groups of interests regards the city revue it than their task to refer make-critically in the public discourse position.

Since the large Cologne local newspapers and a competitive city magazine are concentrated in the hand of only one publisher (see economics in Cologne), represent the city revue an important journalistic alternative to the political reporting.

Further high points of the city revue are the meeting calendar, classified advertisement part, as well as the criticisms of current music and films. The once a year appearing extra charge day and night became an established catering trade leader.
