Christoph Jacob Trew (* 26 April 1695 in run to the Pegnitz; " 18 July 1769 in Nuremberg) was a German physician and Botaniker. Beyond its medical practice it accomplished medical basic research and taught at the university.
Special meaning comes to it by its journalistic activity: Trew created and cared for starting from 1731 one of the first medicine magazines at all, the weekly paper "Commercium litterarium ad rei medicinae et scientiae naturalis ".
As more academically "a net worker "Trew corresponded 15 years long for this magazine with professional colleagues in completely Europe. Its it used international contacts also, in order to arrange several collections, which are counted today in their respective areas to the most extensive early modern times: Thus Trew left the largest well-known letter collection with medical and scientific emphasis (it well 19,000 letters, among other things from Albrecht of Haller, contain Conrad Gesner and Lorenz Heister).
