The office designation Chief Financial Officer (CFO) from the anglo-saxon area corresponds to the commercial managing director or finance executive committee in German for instance at corporations (financings). In the course of the internationalization this designation is used partly also in Germany and other countries, whereby it has here no legal meaning, but only one auxiliary title is.

To the USA the CFO was introduced by the CFO act from 1990 also for government mechanisms. In Germany of the assigned one for the household notices this function in authorities.
