The centralEuropean free trade agreement, CEFTA (English cent ral European Free trade Agreement), is a free trade agreement between Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia and Romania. The goal of the agreement are the dismantling of tariffs and not tariff eras barriers to trade. A participation in the CEFTA applies due to the associated criteria and agreements as preparation to a possible entry to the European union.
The agreement was created on 21 December 1992 by Poland, earlier Czechoslovakia and Hungary in the Polish Krakau and came into force in March 1993. The free trade contract represents 1994 based European marketing area one of the most important economic agreements beside the European free-trade association and that existing since 1960 within Europe.

The European Union candidate country Croatia is called often also "economical engine of "South-east Europe.
An extension of the CEFTA on the so-called "west Balkans" - states is planned. It is to come to loosening the photograph criteria. For the future the Beitritte is planned by Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Kosovo, Moldavia, Montenegro, and Serbia. With the CEFTA summit in Bucharest on 6 April 2006 it was specified that the states mentioned are to join 2006 still before at the end of to the CEFTA. Probably in October 2006 an entry summit will take place. In the distant future one plans also the admission of the Ukraine.
As entry criteria to the new states no more a membership in the world trade organization (World Trade Organization) or institutionalized relations with the European Union will not be considered, since about Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia neither members the World Trade Organization are, still another a stabilization and association agreement with the European Union to have signed.
The European perspective for the states of South-east Europe is considered as the most important criterion to the development of the entire region and thus to the preservation of the peace in Europe. The CEFTA is to ensure political stability by economic unions.
