Carrefour is an internationally active French enterprise in the retail trade.

At the company Distributis AG, which operates Swiss Carrefour of supermarkets, is involved the Carrefour group with 40%. Swiss mouse getting thing hold the remaining 60% (among other things Manor, Manora, Athleticum, jumbo jet of building markets). 10 of the 11 Carrefour branches developed from the "jumbo jet supermarkets". The first jumbo jet branches developed at the beginning of the 1970er years.

In Switzerland Carrefour operates 11 wide supermarkets. The branches are in Switzerland, in the canton Wallis, in the canton Berne, in the canton Zurich and in the canton Tessin. Carrefour would like to open further branches, in particular in central Switzerland and in east Switzerland. These plans could not be converted so far due to of build-legal barriers. The management considers therefore the opening of smaller shops, with which environmental federations are not authorized against the building project to the complaint.

The enterprise obtains a conversion of for instance CHF 1 billion. The Carrefour branches offer a very large, comprehensive assortment.
