Carl von Opel (* 1869; "† 1927) were one the founder of the German car manufacturer OPEL.
His father, Adam OPEL, created OPELs 1862 at Ruesselsheim as a manufacturer of sewing machines, later however extended he the company to the Fahrradmanufaktur. After the death of its father 1895 took over its five sons the company. 1898 brought Carl, Wilhelm and its brother to Fritz the company into the automobile industry with the purchase of the small Lutzmannfabrik in Dessau.
Carl OPEL became to 7. March 1918 in Darmstadt appointed by the Grand Duke of Hessen the Kommerzienrat. The same title was lent one year before at its brothers William and Heinrich.
