The Carl hut was an iron foundry in Schleswig-Holstein.

History

The buyer Marcus hard TIG Holler let ironworks build in the year 1827 in that before the background opening of the trade ways and supposed ore finds. The establishment of the Carl hut changed the structure of the place with Rendsburg fundamentally. After his promoter, the royal governor Carl of Hessen, he called the ironworks "Carl hut". Smelting of the lawn iron ore proved as unproductive and/or uneconomic, so that production was changed over to cast irons.

Examples of the cast iron art are in the iron art casting museum This museum was donated in the year 1963 by Ahlmann. Beside the cast iron work Holler let a dockyard build. Holler was characterised by its business fate and established a Leimsiederei and a poultry breeding. In these it offered jobs for the women of the hut workers with home working such as weaving mill, wire and Strohflechterei. In the year 1841 already 250 workers were busy in the Carl hut.

With the completion of the northeast ship canal in the year 1895 more favorable terms of carriage resulted for the Carl hut. The staff rose rapidly to 1.100 coworkers in the year 1909. The Carl hut brought such a wealth into the region that the weights poured in the Carl hut gained so high calibration fees that the inhabitants did not need to pay local taxes.

The family Ahlmann the hut of Holler. After the death of Julius Ahlmann led its widow 1931 up to their death 1963 the management. Ahlmann was considerably involved in the success of the Carl hut. It is to have led the hut with iron-hard hand. During up to 2. World war of scarcely 6,000 inhabitants in lived, increased the total population after end of war by the stream of refugees to over 10.000. The Ahlmann enterprises employed approximately 3,000 people around 1960.

The Ahlmann had to let first and 1997 the second and final insolvency, with following locking of the hut, be issued in the year 1974 over itself.
