Carl F.W. Borgward, eigentl. Carl Friedrich William Borgward, (* 10 November 1890 in Hamburg Altona; "† 28 July 1963 in Bremen) was a German engineer and autotechnical designer.

Life

Borgward, son of a coal dealer, originated from simple conditions and had twelve brothers and sisters. After its theory as fitters it studied mechanical engineering. It thereby financially to support, was not simple for the family. 1913 terminated Borgward its study as Dipl. - engineer.

A group of investors bought the machines and the rights to 1964, and copied in the years 1967 to 1970 the Borgward P 100 in Mexico. The former manufacturing plants in Bremen belong today to DaimlerChrysler.
