The Cadillac Escalade is an American luxury jeep. With the model Escalade followed general of engine (GM) 1999 of the increasing demand in the United States for large SUVs in the upper class. For this purpose the existing model Chevrolet Tahoe (Chevrolet and Cadillac are both marks of the GM) was arranged newly and got a Cadillac radiator grille, high-quality interior equipment and to date strongest engine in a jeep in the USA.

The Escalade sold itself soon better than one year before the Lincoln navigator brought by the ore competitor Ford on the market. Therefore 2002 were offered to the model care a still larger and stronger engine and a Pickup version in the framework. Also due to the large success of the Escalade one decided to build itself with GM also the lobster H2 on the same basis.

Since 2002 there are the Escalade EXT on basis of the Chevrolet Avalanche. A Pickup version of the Escalade, with same wheel base however a longer rear overhang, which makes a large loading area possible. Since 2003 the Escalade ESV is offered, an extended version of the basic model, on basis of the Chevrolet Suburban.

The Cadillac Escalade enjoys in particular in the American Tuning and noble scene of large popularity, the standard 17 " - rims are exchanged approximately up to 24 " large copies and e.g. so-called Lambo Style Doors (doors, which open not laterally but vertically) is inserted.

Officially the Cadillac Escalade only sold since short in Germany, however only in the basic version. It was offered before only by some importers, because of the bad demand concerns it here however extremely small numbers of items.

Cadillac presented the new Escalade model year 2006. Constructing on the new large SUV platform of the GM company the Escalade carries a new drive strand, a new body and new safety and comfort feature. Into the US trade the Escalade comes in the first quarter 2006, to Germany only in August 2006. The ESV and EXT versions with longer wheel base follow later in the year (however in January 2006 to Detroit engine show were already pointed).
