Bio energy is a technical term for the energetic use of biomass. By the use of biomass as sources of energy the bio energy should be an ecological and favorable energy source. As applicable biomass count above all wood, straw, corn, grain, sugar beets, Raps, fermentation gas, vegetable oils, bio wastes, Exkremente, in addition, algae and further.

With the formation of the biomass the energy of the solar radiation is used by the plants by means of photosynthesis and stored in the form of organic, material high-energy.

Differently the fossil sources of energy: Also they go leading the carbon dioxide originally bound in them on organic subject back (oil developed from died Plankton, coal from forests), but were extracted for millions of years the atmospheric cycle and since beginning of the industrialization by burn in still increasing measure into the atmosphere are only set free and to a rise of the average air temperature (greenhouse effect) can.

Main advantage of the bio energy is, apart from the supply of renewable instead of finite sources of energy, the decrease of the carbon dioxide output into the atmosphere: Wood or other biogenous sources of energy extracted the greenhouse gas stored in them from carbon dioxide in the course of their growth of the atmosphere first, binds the vegetation regenerating when lasting use it quite fast again.

Hauptnachteil of the bio power production with regenerating raw materials is their enormous area requirements and its competition to nature surfaces. The expanded cultivation of biomass (corn, Raps, sugar beets, grain, wood) for the purpose of the power production is ecologically not meaningful.

Models for bio power production from waste or Exkrementen are tested already and function in large-scale installations as well as in mini purification plants for the domestic purposes. With these models the Hauptnachteil is switched off. Additionally they make and central purification plants for drains "redundant" and make so the building possible of houses, or far removes for satellite cities from any infrastructure.
