The term business achievement management (GLM) or English Business performance management (BPM), also corpus width unit performance management mentioned, describes methods, tools and processes for the improvement of the efficiency and of enterprises. The English term "business performance management "(on German about "management of the business achievement ") was coined/shaped by Howard Dresner, an analyst of the Gartner Group. Howard Dresner had before already established the term Business Intelligence. Howard Dresner left Gartner in the year 2005, in order to occupy with the software producer Hyperion Solutions the position of the Chief Strategy Officer.
