Burrill Berhard Crohn (* 13. June 1884 in New York; "† 29 July 1983 in Connecticut) was a physician and the Erstbeschreiber of the disease Crohn.

Crohn is the grandchild of GermanJewish immigrants, who had emigrated in confusions of the time after the revolution of 1848 in Germany from Europe. Its father was a petroleum dealer. It had eleven brothers and sisters. Its education was strict and coined/shaped from a very orthodox life. Only the medicine study to the Columbia University made possible it for it to break out of the traditions of which it had been up to then some. , he received the title of the doctor of the medicine to 1907, at the age of 23 years.

It received a first place as Assistenzarzt at the Mt. Sinai hospital in New York town center, four years later it established than practical physician, worked themselves parallel always scientifically on the Mt. Only with 91 years Burrill B. Crohn terminated its activity as a practical physician, who had attained up to then long world fame. It died aged with 99 years.
