Buick is an automobile mark, whose vehicles in the USA and China are produced by the US-American automobile company general of engine.
Buick became as independent automobile mark under the name Buick engine company to 19. May 1903 of David Dunbar Buick in Michigan based. 1904 were taken over the company by William C. Durant.
Buick developed in the following years to the most successful US-American automobile mark. With the immense profits Durant still more automaker bought up and justified so the company general of engine.
In the new company Buick the group of buyers, which luxury cars bought such as Cadillacs, should be addressed. Buicks were however attractive offer than Cadillacs. Today Buick stands within general of engine behind Cadillac and struggles for profile. The mark is for years so that the model pallet was trimmed on some vehicles (model year 2006: five models), which differ however more strongly from other GM derivatives.
Into the 1950er to 1970er years numerous OPEL models under the Buick label in the USA were offered, so to the Olympia record P1 (1959), the Olympia of 1967, Ascona, Manta A and in particular the legendary OPEL GT.
