A budget gap is a deviation of the budget from the reality to Ungunsten of the state.

There are three types of budget gaps:

  1. Planned incomes cannot be realized (e.g. Madly Collect truck duty, shortfalls in revenue).
  2. Planned expenditures fail more highly, as if expects (practically each construction measure).
  3. Expenditures fall on those were not on counted (e.g. Flood damages at federal highways etc., remunerations due to of court decisions).

Depending upon range of the budget gap a supplementary budget must be decided. At present it is world-wide relating to financial policy practice to adjust red numbers in the state balance by admission of a new indebtedness.
