The Buckelvolvo received - like so many automobiles - its names by its form.

The Buckelvolvo, among which the PV444 (1947 to 1958) ranks and the test specifications 544 (1958 to 1965), possesses a quite salient, pulled through roof and back line. This "flows" from the upper edge of the windshield in an unbroken, strongly bent momentum up to the conclusion of the tail, which provides one for the vehicles ducked roundish "embossment".

The combination version of the Buckelvolvos is called Duett.
