Brosamen of Mr. Tisch was a Christian magazine.

Founder and publisher

The founder of the sheet, Franz Eugen butcher, published her starting from 1888 as an editor on private basis. It sold it 1893 to the Evangelist society, which regarded it as its official sheet. Butcher remained however until 1907 editor of the sheet. With its change as Prediger to the free Evangelist municipality in Berne its work was divided. Gottfried Fankhauser, the later president of the Evangelist society of the canton Berne took over a part of it. In the point it had 6000 subscriptions.

Contents

Contents look for their-same in quality and composition: First founded religious an article came. Biographies of Erweckungspredigern followed, as e.g. from D.L. Moody, or reports of arousing and/or biographic-structural life pictures or narrations like e.g. "Resli, the Butcher had called here the fate of the thing child Andreas Balli, "Resli", repeated. Further edifying church-historical narrations e.g. were. "Masters Pippin" or "Jarousseau, the minister of the desert". Afterwards it gave somewhat for the general education, e.g. Excerpts from (probably) Brehms animal life over certain animals, e.g. the Kuckuck, which follows in part here:

"In addition its is praise worth at this feather/spring cattle. A noble characteristic is not otherwise, particularly at married men; but the Kuckuck does not eat and sausage, but only crawler-type vehicles, which nobody else likes, because they are so haarig. The nun crawler-type vehicle, this feared has one at it swears enemy. Thus the Kuckuck becomes also still the culture fighter by the fact that it eats nuns; it is however nevertheless still another difference between it and a radical government advice, as, the Kuckuck it eats the latter nuns from hate however from loud love ". After the married men and the policy follows the polarize-mixed side blow as religious Schlenker then the remark: "' S comes in such a way that one never finds more than a only one young Kuckuck in the nest - the picture of the completed self craze ". The article ends with the following admonishment: "Notice dir"´s, fool and is no Kuckuck, which throws the weaker one from the nest ".

Reports on a journey etc. followed e.g. from the holy country and in the end a column "to the world situation", in which the author judged and commentated regional and world-political events religiously. Here one finds rescue actions in the mountains, a queue hunt in Bernese to law, reports from the citizen of Berlin Reichstag, Kommentare to wars of the British Empire etc.

Style

Everything was written with butcher inimitable kind: with pointedly religious feather/spring and an easy Sarkasmus.

Influence

For the rural surrounding field of Berne and the sanctifying movement and/or the Evangelist society it was an important magazine. Butcher could place its reader not only religious of contents, but also a good piece of general education and time-historical farsightedness.
