The broadcast Berlin Brandenburg (abbreviation: rbb, after own Corporate Identity with small letters) an institute of the public right (national broadcasting corporation) for the Lands of the Federal Republic is always Berlin and Brandenburg with double seat in Berlin and potsdam. Rbb went at the 1. May 2003 from the fusion of the transmitter free Berlin (SFB) and the East German of broadcast Brandenburg (ORB) with seat in potsdam out and is member of the working group of the public broadcasting corporations in the Federal Republic of Germany (pool of broadcasting corporations).

Rbb maintains beside the two main radio houses in Berlin and potsdam still the Studios in Cottbus, Frankfurt (or), Perleberg and Prenzlau. Due to the state contract over the establishment of a common broadcasting corporation of Lands Berlin and Brandenburg from 25 June 2002 rbb one established. Afterwards rbb sound broadcasting and television organize and have with the fact to guarantee that both convention countries are equivalently supplied "with consideration of the regional program needs".

• Culture radio - culture wave from Berlin
• Info radio - information and message wave from Berlin
• radiomultikulti - international one wave for foreign and German listeners from Berlin
• Sorbi broadcast - common program with the MDR in the sorbischen languages

Admitted rbb productions

Rbb produce Kriminalfilme of the transmission rows for the pool of broadcasting corporations among other things scene and police call 110 as well as the magazines the contrasts and Polylux.

History

Rbb took at the 1. May 2003 the transmit mode up. He took over the programs of the past SFB and the ORB as follows:

• on the television
  • of the SFB the television program SFB1 - now rbb Berlin
  • of the ORB the ORB television - now rbb Brandenburg

Both programs were folded up on 29 February 2004. Separated to be sent since then only the restaurant endings evening-look and Brandenburg current.

• in sound broadcasting:
  • of the SFB the city radio 88acht and the program radiomultikulti
  • of the ORB the programs antenna Brandenburg and radio 3
  • of SFB and ORB together operated programs radio UNITY, Fritz, InfoRADIO and RADIOkultur

Radio culture and radio 3 were fused on 1 December 2003 to the new program culture radio.

First Intendantin of the new transmitter is since that 1. May 2003 Dagmar Reim.

Transmitting plants

• MW-transmitting plant in at the citizens of Berlin avenue (northern the Grunewaldes)
• Transmitting pole for UKW and TV at the citizen of Berlin Scholzplatz

Outside of the former West Berlin transmitting plants of the German Telekom AG are used for the spreading of the programs broadcast Berlin Brandenburg. These transmitting stations are:

• Boossen/Treplin
• Freyenstein
• Guben
• Pritzwalk
• Spremberg
• Helpterberg

The television program will transfer from the citizen of Berlin locations digitally as DVB-T, from the remaining locations takes place the transmission still similarly.
