Branch post offices were mechanisms of the post office in 19. Jh., which were assigned to private individuals, in order to make the postal service on the flat country accessible. They developed approximately around 1897 (in Bavaria in April 1897 by way of trial) and were surface covering furnished after the re-organization in Bavaria and the German Reich starting from 1 October 1898.
