Boonekamp is a Bitterspirituose.
The smell is aromatic-spicy, easily licorice-like. The alcohol content amounts to 40% volume. The sugar content amounts to maximally 3 g per 100 ml. The production takes place via Mazeration or Perkolation.
Originally by a Mr. Kamp in Leidschendam (Flanders) 1815 "bitter stomach drops" were manufactured. It sold its product to the company A.M. Freres in Antwerp and set the English word for Wohltat = Boon before its names. As Boonekamp the Spirituose attained world success.
