The Bizerba GmbH & CO. Kg was created 1866 by the mechanic master Andreas Bizer as scale construction workshop. The name Bizerba resulted then from the name Bizer and Balingen. The enterprise manufactures balances, cashes, commodity managements, Industrielle of weighing and information systems, price marking and identification systems, Kontrollwaagen and logistics and dispatch systems. To the company Bizerba belong the subsidiary companies BLG, BAG and BIGEFA. The BIGEFA serves Bizerba for the training in the house.

Beside the work in Balingen Bizerba has a production work in Messkirch, in which excluding cutting and Fleischbearbeitungsmaschinen is produced, and a further work in Bochum, in which paper and labels are manufactured.

Bizerba has world-wide approx. 2570 coworkers.
