The mark dual was once the epitome for high-quality record players. The company was created 1906 by the brothers Steidinger in pc. Georgen in the Black Forest. The largest manufacturer of record players was binary and had at the best times more than 3,000 coworkers. In the year 1982 the company had to announce Insolvenz and by the French company Thomson was bought, in the year 1988 then of the cutters of broadcast works AG.

The rights at the name dual (except for record players) belong since 1996 the Karstadt AG, which sells various entertainment electronics devices under this name - however with changed dual Logo -. Record players under the name dual are manufactured today of the Alfreds Fehrenbacher GmbH, pc. Georgen.
