Beylerbey, on Turkish Beylerbeyi, German and slawisch also Bejlerbej, Beglerbeg, or Beilerbei is called actually on Turkish "gentleman of the gentlemen "(of the title Bey - gentleman). A osmanischer ruler title was to be designated around the most important hierarchy of the provinziellen rulers and/or desired. A Beylerbey was (governor of several Vilayeten) - only the Wesir had a higher rank.
To 1837 the Husainiden Beis led also the title, since that time then the title "and owners of the kingdom of Tunis" (see also: Category: Bey of Tunis), which they with the style "sovereignty" connected and to who 1871 were confirmed by the osmanischen Sultan.
The Germans in the Balkans knew the title, and it emerged even in their people stories, for example in De Beglerbeg vun Temeschwar.
