Now however no longer the embroidery in the center, but building the hollow seam machine was located. The hollow seam machines were continued to sell abroad. The name Gegauf became in such a way admits that the mechanical production of hollow seams from now on only "gegaufen "one called. After outbreak of the First World War the incomes decreased/went back strongly. The Bernina was not allowed to supply the hollow seam machines to no more with abroad. A tragic event stopped production: 1917 died George Gegauf, which led the company with its brother. Later Karl Friedrich Gegauf established a new workshop, briefly after the war could production again be taken up.

The celanese factory
