Bernhard Kimmel (* 1936 in Lambrecht/Pfalz) became Germany far admits, because he was involved around 1960 as well as in the year 1981 in attention exciting criminal offences. He served first an of many years, later a lifelong imprisonment. Because of good guidance it became in December 2003 after altogether more than 31 years detention to dismiss prematurely.

Criminal offences in the forest

Bilge L-band

From 24 October 1957 by 7 January 1961 Kimmel was the head the bilge L-band designated after it. During a visit to the scene of the crime some weeks later Kimmel succeeded again a spectacular escape: It had had itself removed in the forest the handcuffs, because it wanted to take allegedly its coat off, and jumped then suddenly a steep slope down, in order to supply itself in an nearby hiding place with weapons. With the following shooting also its friend could flee. After four days however the couple before February cold weather had to capitulate and placed themselves to the authorities.

Processes

Particularly because a part of the booty, which became to bury allegedly in Milchkannen in the forest, remained disappeared and because he was the leader of the gang, received Kimmel at the end of of 1962 for the act complex a imprisonment. From this he (under charge of the remand) had to serve somewhat more than nine years. In May 1970 he came prematurely because of good guidance on free foot.

Cetto was condemned - likewise 1962 - because of murder to lifelong imprisonment; 1963, after few months in the penal institution, he took himself the life. The remaining gang members were occupied with shorter detentions.

Bank break-down and acquietal

at night 1975 were committed in Trebur (with Frankfurt) a break-down into a bank. In the proximity of the scene the police arrested Kimmel and found in its car also tool, which would have fit the act execution. He refused putting a confession down and was accused, 1976 however for lack of sufficient proofs acquitted.

12 December 1981 Kimmel tried a nocturnal break-down into a savings bank in Bensheim the mountain route. It attacked the alarmed policemen with force of arms. By an explosive device ignited by Kimmel the Achim Benick suffered a cross section paralysis, and with a pistol the Hubert Rupprecht from few meters distance was shot. For this act Kimmel was condemned to lifelong imprisonment, from which he had to serve well 22 years.

Kimmel and the public

Over 1960 had looked for Kimmel under the name "aluminium Capone of "press contacts and had received, particularly also appropriate attention at the rainbow press. One 1969 over the happening in the forest turned television film had the title "aluminium Capone in the German forest ". Under the direction of Franz Peter Wirth and after the film script of Peter Adler among other things want Danin, Angelika Bender, Christoph Wackernagel and Rainer Werner barrel binder played.
