Bernhard Howaldt (* 11 September 1850 in Kiel; "† 7. March 1908 ebd.) was north Germans an entrepreneur of the establishment time in the ranges of the machine, ship and equipment construction and promoted considerably the industrialization of the city Kiel.
After attendance of the Kieler August Ferdinand Howaldt and Volontariat in England he studied scholar school, a theory in the mechanical engineering institute Schweffel & Howaldt of its father from 1872 to 1875 mechanical engineering at the technical university to Karlsruhe, the Fridericiana. 1889 became brothers Howaldt with the Kieler dockyard of his brother George the Howaldtswerke AG (today: HDW) combines.
