Bedford was a subsidiary company of the British car manufacturer Vauxhall of engine, which is daughter US-American general of the engine company. Bedford was created 1930 as a commercial motor vehicle manufacturer, because the import of truck was not worthwhile due to the world economic crisis any more. Since 1990 the label name Bedford was given up in favor of of Vauxhall.

Afterwards the modernized variant of the model received the designation J2, J3, J4, J5 and J6, which were offered also by the Australian sister Holden into the 1970er years. It is this very day in Pakistan, also in the army of Pakistan, very far common, because the company installed SKD from 1950 to 1972 penalty and truck of Bedford in Pakistan.
