Baumkurren are special basic dragging nets for the catch of North Sea shrimps and flat fish (e.g. Schollen or sea-tongues) in the Wattenmeer.
A Kurrbaum keeps open the opening the net under water. Over skid-like shoes the Fischkutter pulls the net over the bottom of the sea. The role basic rope under the net opening weights the Baumkurre releases when sliding about the sea-bottom vibrations.
