Sir Basil Zaharoff (born as Vasileios Zacharias) (* supposed 6 October 1849 in Mugla, Turkey; "† 27 November 1936 in Monaco) was a Greek weapon dealer and before his death owner of the gaming house Monte Carlo.

Life

It applied at its time as richest and most powerful weapon dealers of Europe. Zaharoff supplied each state with weapons, which brought in the name "salesman of death" for him. It is to have been involved in armament makers Vickers, Krupp and Skoda. From fear of assassination attempts busy it several doubles.
