Baruch Samuel Blumberg (* 28. July 1925 in New York, USA) be a American physician.

Blumberg discovered 1965 the exciter of hepatitis B, equally he developed a test, in order to examine donor blood for hepatitis B.

it received 1976 together with Daniel Carl clay/tone Gajdusek the Nobelpreis for physiology or medicine "for its discoveries from new mechanisms with the emergence and spreading from infections".
