Energy reserves and - camps

Due to annual new finds the height of the well-known remains relatively constant in Austria since 1995. Are also if conditions admit 2003 occurrences of 12 millions t, which would be enough annually with present delivery of approximately 1 million t for approximately 12 years, thus until 2015, no further finds should be made, about which however one does not go out.

Due to laws oil equivalents in a certain height must be stored available. This takes over beside the OMV and RISES UP also the ELG (oil camp company) and oil importers the obligation state of emergency reserves to hold must. In sum this 2003 resulted in a storekeeping of 1,86 million t oil equivalents.

In order to adjust seasonal price and Verbrauchsschwankungen with the natural gas, large stores for natural gas exist. A third of average yearly consumption stores i.e. expenditure-promoted deposits of natural gas from porous rock in underground memory. In 500 to 1,500 m at present more than 2 billion m stores depth natural gas. The central monitoring station for natural gas transport and - storage is in Auersthal. The OMV operates likewise natural gas camps in Reyersdorf (with 1.770 10^6 m the largest), Tallesbrunn and Thann, and RISE UP operates a memory in Puchkirchen.

Enterprise

The Austrian current market is very strongly coined/shaped by still by the majority the power supplier in the public possession. Each Land of the Federal Republic has its own electrical utility, for several years by mutual participation by means of alliances (e.g. Energy alliance) are also among themselves ever more strongly interlaced. In addition comes still the stock exchange-noted operator of the Danube power stations, that transacts Austria far group company, as well as numerous small power stations and several private business, which have however still little market share, since the Austrian current market liberalisiert only a few years ago, and thus for private competitors one opened. For the monitoring and promotion of the competition at the current market the supervisory authority E-control was created.

The local power suppliers are (in clammy one the ownership structure:

  • Castle country: BEWAG (51% country castle country, 49% castle country getting thing with EVN)
  • KELAG (63.88% country and municipalities, 35.12% group company, 1% strewing possession)
  • Lower Austria: EVN (51% country Lower Austria, approximately 30% EnBW, 5% Raiffeisen Landesbank upper Austria, < 14% strewing possession)
  • Upper Austria: Energy AG (75% country upper Austria, 25% energy alliance partner)
    City Linz: Linz AG (100% city Linz)
  • Salzburg: Salzburg AG (74% country and city Salzburg, 26% energy AG)
  • Steiermark: Energy Steiermark (75% country Steiermark, 25% EdF, France)
  • Tirol: TIWAG (100% country Tirol)
  • Vorarlberg: Illwerke (95.5% country Vorarlberg)
  • Vienna: Vienna stream (100% city Vienna)

In the range of the oil and natural gas extraction two enterprises are active in Austria. The OMV (Austrian mineral oil administration) and RISE UP (crude oil visiting AG), which today however only a small meaning comes.
