The agave plants (Agavaceae) are a family of bloom plants, which in the south of the USA, in Mexico, in which Karibik occur and in the northern South America. The plants are sukkulent, thus water-storing. The plants form a Blattrosette. They flower usually only at the high age, whereby many kinds are received after the bloom.

The agave plants were assigned to the lily plants (Liliaceae) a few years ago to partially the (Ameryllidaceae) and on the other hand.
