The AEG (A'llgemeine G'esellschaft) was a German enterprise.

History

The society owes its emergence Emil Rathenau, which acquired 1883 the patents at the inventions Thomas Alva Edisons to lamps for Germany and created in addition in Berlin a small association for studies. Aircraft construction

In the year 1910 the AEG created the department of aircraft construction. As the first airplane 1912 a pure timber construction were built after the model of the double-decker of the brothers WRIGHTs. This possessed a span of 17,5 m and a drive with an eight cylinder engine with an output of 75 HP. The unloaded weight of the airplane amounted to 850 kg, the reached speed of 65 km/h.

Starting from 1912 the airplanes in Gemischtbauweise from wood and steel tube with fabric covering were then built.
