The enterprise Avon Products was created by David McConnell. It began as a book salesman and gave small perfume samples as refreshment at its customers. When he noticed that the people were interested in perfume much, it developed from it an enterprise.

Classically AVON sells its products over "AVON Ladies" (merchandiser inside).

• 1886: McConnell bases in Manhattan, New York, which begins "California Perfume company" and to sell perfume from door door to.
• 1939: The California Perfume company renamed in Avon Products Inc. The name AVON is a Hommage at William Shakespeare and its birth city Stratford upon Avon.
• 1959: AVON addresses in Germany and in Great Britain are created.
• 1977: For the first time AVON appear costume jewelry collection.
• 1979: AVON starts in Austria.
• 1989: AVON does without bioassays.
• 2000: AVON starts the selling in source Shops in Germany.
