August GmbH is a piano factory the 1859 in Saxonia was based. The enterprise is also today still in family estate and is an important piano manufacturer of instruments of high quality after August death in the year 1897 took over its son Frster the production management. It created 1900 a branch of the enterprise in George forest which was obligation-expropriated 1945 by the Czech government and under the company name Petrof, however under the label name August further instruments manufactures. Starting from 1972 the enterprise in the VEB wing and Pianobau came up. Today the enterprise is again in family estate. The 40 coworkers manufacture annually about 260 instruments in manual work.
