Asylum abuse is the attempt to use asylum and asylum proceeding in order to reach other purposes. The primary goal is thereby the stay in the asylum granting country. This stay again is in most cases to serve financial purposes, like purchase of social security benefits or admission occupation-asylum-abusing immigrants indicates often wrong information about their person and entry reasons, in order to attain the status from asylum solicitors to and the classification or deportation escape. The state steers this behavior often with the aggravation of the asylum laws against. The asylum abuse problem served therefore also as legitimacy for the aggravation of the right of asylum 1993 and the stranger police regulation in the year 2006.

Some political circles, primarily from the right party spectrum, use the term asylum abuse in opinion of their critics (predominant from the left party spectrum) sometimes, in order to subordinate to the whole of all asylum-seekers an abuse of the right to an application for asylum at pursuit in the own country.
