This article treats the definition agricultural tractors in the sense of the driving licence right

(For the explanation of the term see under tractor.)

For the validity of the German driving licence classes L and T the driving licence regulation (FeV) states the following:

Tractors, which are certain according to their design for the use for country or forest-economical purposes and are used for such purposes. ("§6 paragraph 1)

It applies:

"§6 paragraph 5 driving licence regulation

Under country or forest-economical purposes in the context of the driving licence of the classes T and L fall

1. Enterprise of agriculture, forestry, viticulture, horticulture, fruit-growing, vegetable growing, nursery gardens, animal breeding, animal husbandry, pisciculture, Teichwirtschaft, fishery, lmkerei as well as the goals of nature and environmental protection serving landscape conservation,

2. Park, garden, embankment and cemetery care including winter services,

3. agricultural supplementary income activity and neighbourhood assistance of farmers,

4. Enterprise of country and forest-economical wage enterprises and other outside machine use,

5. Enterprise of enterprise, those the safety device, the monitoring and promotion of the agriculture serve predominantly directly and

6. Enterprise from workshops to the repair, maintenance and examination of vehicles as well as test runs of the manufacturers of vehicles, which are used in each case in the framework of the numbers 1 to 5.

The use of such vehicles to others than the purposes mentioned would mean that the facts of "driving without driving licence" are present. This is in the legal sense a passing (criminal offence existence).

With the conversion of the old driving licence document into an European Union map driving licence on request the class T without driving test or further training is given to persons, who are busy as can be prove in the land or forestry and in the possession of one before 1 January 1999 gave German driving licence of the class 3 are. The distribution applies only with handing the new driving licence document out as carried out.
