The Agfa AG (today Agfa Gevaert AG) is an enterprise from the photo economy. The stock exchange contraction reads AGE, the ISIN is BE0003755692.

Agfa was over decades one of the largest European manufacturers of photographic films and laboratory equipment after the competitors Kodak and Fujifilm leading world-wide. The Agfa Gevaert AG sold however unprofitable the division photography become, to which in former times the core business of the Agfa represented now AG to center 2004 and under AgfaPhoto GmbH is independent and is subject an insolvency procedure. At the AG the parts of the enterprise GraphicSystems (among other things printing plate making) and HealthCare remained.

1954 to 1964 existed in the GDR parallel the company VEB film factory Agfa Wolfen (also VEB film and chemical fibre work Agfa Wolfen), which had likewise come out from the old Agfa AG as reestablishment, after she was taken over later after the Second World War first by US armed forces and by the Soviet administration SMAD.
