The source GmbH is distributing house before the union with the Karstadt AG in the year 1999 read the company name source Schickedanz AG & Co.Das an enterprise on 26 October 1927 by Gustav Schickedanz was based. After its death source was resumed first by its widow Grete Schickedanz, converted later the enterprise into a corporation. According to data of the KarstadtQuelle company 2006 became from the source AG the source GmbH. (This applies also to Neckermann and other parts of the KarstadtQuelle of company)

The source GmbH is apart from the Neckermann dispatch AG one of the two universal senders of the KarstadtQuelle AG.
